Beautiful Water Jewel:
This simple piece of jewelry makes an iconic artistic statement out of the basic blue orb. Handcrafted in the U.S. by artisan, Jillian Sauers. The silver-plated wire-wrapped glass marbles symbolize our interconnection to each other and the waters of the world as one drop of water returned to the ocean washes back on many shores. We agree. We are pleased to offer Jillian’s marble jewels that can hang from a neck chain, be used on key chains, suspended in a window, used in a dream catcher, or hung in many other visible places. Let the sun shine through your blue marble. This is what light looks like under the sea. The radiance of that beautiful blue penetrates consciousness and sustains a Blue Mind.
The Blue Marble project was started by Dr. Wallace Nichols, marine biologist and neuro-conservation researcher. He found that a brain-change occurred whenever people looked at water, thought about water, or immersed themselves in water. The brain would immediately activate a calming response to the entire body and all sensory functions became super-receptive. Finally, science is documenting what shamans, priests, mystics, and spiritual healers have known for millennia. Water is the most powerful change-agent on earth, and since we are 70% water, we respond to that power throughout our minds and bodies. The chemistry in the brain that washes through us when we feel love or pleasure is the same chemical cocktail we experience when we connect with water even in small ways. Dr. Nichols calls this sensory state, the “Blue Mind.” Why not create a way to keep humans “in love with water,” he asked, as any scientist would. The Blue Marble project was the answer.
Recognizing the dismal condition of the waters of the world, he theorized that if people learned to pay attention to water and think of water, they would grow to care deeply about saving the waters of the world. Soon he was handing a blue marble to every person he came in contact with and whenever he gave talks and presentations about the oceans, each attendee would get a blue marble. The idea of passing blue marbles out to millions of people is a simple reminder that has become a worldwide practice of sharing water consciousness.
